PSSA ENCOURAGES APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER BRENDAN CARR AS NEXT FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION CHAIRMAN

IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 6, 2024

LAS VEGAS—Today the Public Safety Spectrum Alliance (PSSA) sent a letter to the  Trump transition team strongly encouraging them to appoint Commissioner Brendan  Carr as the next Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission on his first day  in office.

“Commissioner Carr has shown that he is a leader who can move critical items that  benefit our country. We have worked with Commissioner Carr on many complex  spectrum issues that impact public safety. Over the years, he has shown a  deep appreciation for and understanding of public safety communications needs, and  has ardently supported first responders” said Chief Jeff Johnson who represents the  PSSA.

The PSBTA and PSSA are our nation’s leading experts in public safety broadband  technology. Commissioner Carr has earned our trust and support and believe  he would be one of the finest FCC Chairmen ever to have held that office. We urge  President-elect Trump to appoint Commissioner Brendan Carr Chairman of the Federal  Communications Commission on day one of your new administration.
